Description: F30 build justinbuice.com/f30-mods In this video, I install a CSL style “ducktail” trunk on my BMW 340i. Initially, it wasn’t perfect and it was a lot of work to make it fit correctly. In my opinion though, it was totally worth it. It’s not something you see everyday and to the best of my knowledge, these trunks aren’t being made anymore. Huge thanks to Kies Motorsports for giving this to me (they are probably happy to have it out of there storage room [laughs]). I wish I had a link for you guys, and if you happen to find one on eBay, I hope this gives you an idea of how to install it and what the fitment will be like. If you’re wondering why I didn’t reinstall the trunk carpeting, the trunk release handle didn’t fit quite right after the trunk was painted. It made the fitment of the handle a bit too tight and I broke a couple clips off of it trying to force it in. You can kind of see in the video that it’s not sitting perfectly flush. I may need to Dremmel that opening again and order a new handle. Also, the backup camera works, but the car is giving me an error which I’ll diagnose when I have more time. Ahh, cars.. every project is a learning experience 😆.
